Installing

Just like any Joomla extension, you can install CDN for Joomla! by using the core Joomla Installer available in the Joomla! Administrator Control Panel. Alternatively, you can also use the dedicated Regular Labs Extension Manager.

Install from Web

To install CDN for Joomla! via the Joomla! Extension Manager, simply follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Joomla 4 administrator
  2. In the menu, choose: System >> Install >> Extensions
  3. Choose the tab: Install from Web (or enable it if you haven't done so yet)
  4. Select the search field and enter CDN for Joomla! and hit enter
  5. Click on the CDN for Joomla! listing
  6. Click on Install
  7. Click on Install again to confirm

Upload Package File

if you need to install the Pro version, or you cannot install via the 'Install via Web' method for some reason:

  1. Download the install file of CDN for Joomla! from the Regular Labs website (.zip)
  2. Log into your Joomla 4 administrator
  3. In the menu, choose: System >> Install >> Extensions
  4. Choose the tab: Upload Package File
  5. Click on the Choose File button
  6. Select the package file you downloaded earlier
  7. The upload and install will begin automatically

Regular Labs Extension Manager

It is very easy to install/update any Regular Labs Extension using the Regular Labs Extension Manager. This is especially useful if you are using more than one Regular Labs extension, or if you've purchased a Pro version.

With the Regular Labs Extension Manager, you can just click on the Install button for CDN for Joomla!, and it will install automatically.

To install a Pro extension through the Regular Labs Extension Manager, you need to enter your ‘Download Key” in the Configuration Options of your Regular Labs Extension Manager.

Updating

When a new version is released, you can simply update the free version of CDN for Joomla! via the Joomla Updater.

When updating CDN for Joomla!, you don't need to uninstall it first. The new package will update all the files automatically and will preserve your settings.

Note: Keep in mind that when you update to a major new version (or uninstall first), you might lose some configuration settings.

Pro version

If you have the Pro version, you can install the new package on top of the previous one, or you can use the Regular Labs Extension Manager to update more easily.

To update a Pro extension through the Regular Labs Extension Manager, you first need the ‘Download Key” found on your Regular Labs account. Just copy your Download Key and paste it in the Configuration Options of the Regular Labs Extension Manager on your website.

You will then be able to simply click on the related Update button in the Regular Labs Extension Manager, and CDN for Joomla! will update automatically.

Once the Download Key is saved in the Regular Labs Extension Manager, you will also be able to update to the latest Pro version of CDN for Joomla! via the Joomla updater as well.

Uninstalling

To uninstall CDN for Joomla!, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Joomla 4 administrator
  2. In the menu, choose: System >> Install >> Extensions
  3. Select the search field and enter CDN for Joomla! and hit enter
  4. Select the related CDN for Joomla! plugins
  5. Click on Uninstall
  6. Click on OK to confirm

You can also use the Regular Labs Extension Manager to uninstall CDN for Joomla!, by clicking the red X button related CDN for Joomla!.

Note: Keep in mind that when you uninstall CDN for Joomla!, you will lose your configuration settings.

Minimum Requirements

Regular Labs extensions will only work correctly if your setup meets these requirements:

  • Up-to-date version of Joomla:
    • Joomla 3.9.0 or higher
    • Joomla 4.0.0 or higher
    • Joomla 5.0.0 or higher
  • Joomla 3 version: PHP 7.4 or higher
  • Joomla 4 & 5 version: PHP 8.1 or higher
  • MySQL 5 or higher
